Orca Morning
I get an early morning call that a pod of orca were swimming north on the west side of the island. So I scramble and head out to meet them. I spend a half hour with the pod, thinking that they are the mammal-eating Biggs Killer Whales. Later, I am told by experts that in fact I have documented the first appearance of Northern Resident Killer Whales, salmon-hunters, in Atl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound!
