In October 2019, I spent two weeks off the west side of Bowen Island with several humpback whales. I come to recognize each of the humpbacks as individuals, each with a story.  After a century of absence, these graceful giants are back, bringing with them a beauty and magic that I have not experienced before in the waters around my island home.
