The Salmon are back on Bowen Island!

Updated on:

The 2016 Chum salmon run was a record return on Bowen Island and our community turned out to watch the spawning on what may be the shortest upstream swim for Chum to spawning beds anywhere on the BC Coast. The Chum salmon are the stars but the other wild neighbours who show up for the feast – gulls, otter, seals, dippers, mallards, and eagle – are just as much a part of the show.
